Stars

I’m lying on my car,
Watching the ocean;
Watching it til it ends
Far out on the horizon.
A shooting star arises
In all it’s glory.
It’s a dazzling light,
A glimpse of eternity.
There’s no way to catch it
And keep it forever
Like memories of love and laughter
Throw them away, never.
I’ve been lying here for hours now,
Surrounded by all this beauty.
I know it is there,
But it, I just can’t see,
Because there’s only one thing on my mind,
Only one thing that I can see,
And that is you -
