Past Scars

by The Flame Within   Apr 11, 2005

I feel the side of my head
at one point you left a boot print there
i tried not to feel, pretended to be dead
you never gave me a chance, you always won

at one point you left a paddle mark in the middle of my back
but i had to tell Dad i fell of my bike
why didn't you love me, was there something i lacked
Forget it! what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger

but you did kill someone, you killed a little boy
who was innocent to the worlds truth
that boy is dead, you killed his joy
a tormented sol that was being reborn

reborn into someone new, who must struggle to survive
who knows how to fight now in his defense
and like that little boy you killed, just wants to stay alive
you created a monster, a person who lays awake feeling is past scars
