Walking from my ledge

by deadnalone   Apr 12, 2005

Look into my eyes,
What do you really see?
Do you think that I’m happy?
Since the world walked out on me,

Detached and feeling lonely,
I loose myself in the heat,
Of people all around me,
It’s not me they've come to meet,

Look in between the crowds,
And see the ones on the edge,
Not quite sure whether to join,
Or stay on their lone little ledge,

The people without a fun story,
Or a great new lie to tell,
Sat with their legs just dangling,
Out to the depths of hell,

Their wings burnt and charred from the ashes,
A stomach that can’t take these lies,
Finding it hard to excuse the scars,
A silent mouth that sighs,

Pleading to all of the angels,
And devils, whoever is there,
To rip the heart, no longer beating,
Out into cold, dirty air,

“I’m asking you now, please listen,
To my unwanted screaming, great cries,
Take me from this hell on earth,
Take me from all of the lies,

Rid me from this dead existence,
Please will you heed to my call,
I’m going to walk from my ledge now,
Catch me as I fall…”
