Apathy

by Eden   Apr 14, 2005

You think I care for what is here
Before my very eyes...
But see my face as still as rock?
It's you whom I despise.

I shudder not in light's full force
I do not move for you...
Even when the dripping knife
Is plunged into my back anew.

I see your body marred and maimed
For other people's pleasure.
But apathy for the scene in my head
Is impossible to measure.

How could I be so heartless you ask?
Hmmm...and intriguing request...
I guess it's because God made me that way
To watch your bleeding breast.

Yes, it's true you are my friend,
I care for you so deeply...
...
...
...
But, as you should soon come to find out, it takes something from a mind to have a friend betray you...
...I am satisfied now.
