Last Words for You- The note

by Samantha lynn   Apr 14, 2005

Stars used to mean to make a wish,
For love,
For fame,
For pleasure,
For anything,
To make the fears of a broken childhood
Fade away for a single moment.

I watched,
As those memories played,
Like a broken record in a juke box
Winding on and on until the early morning.

I watched as those emotions,
The fear,
The anger,
The innocence,
The naïve optimism,
Grew old and cynical with time;
As I learned the world lay beyond rose colored glasses.

I gathered the images
Of loves past and present,
That like a jigsaw puzzle, becomes spread across
This hard wooden floor of life waiting to be put together.

I gathered the pictures
Of friends,
Of lovers,
Of family,
Of memories,
That shapes me into the woman,
The survivor I would become.

I faced the horizon of blazing colors,
My fading dreams and jaded heart resting in my bosom,
Watching as the burning sun rose to met me;
And I knew it was time to finally let go.

Happy Anniversary- Adieu.
