Popular Lie

by Lyudmila   Apr 20, 2005

Once upon a time
In some imaginary place
Within TV and movie screens
There's always a girl
And there's always a boy
And no matter what happens
There will be love

Once upon a time
In a very real place
Between jobs and school and sleep
There's always a lover
There's always the beloved
And no matter what happens
There must be love

There is a boy
Who has said, "Before I leave,
I want to find a girl to love
As deep as she loves me
Our affection will be equally kind
And we'll live happily."

Just like in the movies,
Just like in the shows
We're creating an image
We'll never know
We're creating situations
We can't possibly have
An ideal love
That we want so bad

That we want so bad,
We cry through the night
Some slash their wrists
Some keep it inside
Slowly we suffer,
And time ticks on by
This is not how
I want to live my life

So kill your ideals
Kill the popular lie
Destroy it before
Life passes you by
