Forget

by The Flame Within   Apr 21, 2005

My key is in your pocket, but you wont give it back
why did you turn my bright world so black

you locked me in a cage and pocked me with a stick
you filled me with lies about my dad that made me sick

you talk to my friends behind my back, saying I'm a bad son
well let me ask you, where was my mother when i needed one

i remember those nights, when you got mad and took the lead
those nights that haunt me, wanting me to bleed

you where the monster in the closet waiting for us to shut our eyes
so you can come out, and just make us cry

you are the reason i never show my pain
tell me women, how have you helped me gain

i have fallen down since you tried to pick me up
I'm getting older, but your treating me like a pup

no more, i wont be apart of you and your ways
Ive tried to get away from you for so many days

the court order keeps me here against my will
its pushing me to the edge of taking too many pills

i have to move on, forget your ways, forget when you lied
forget who you are, that women to me has died
