THE DAD YOU NEVER WERE

by Brandy Sansotta   Apr 21, 2005

Our little boy is turning four in July,
He's never met you and doesn't know your face.
You weren't there when he was born,
Never even called.
You weren't there when he learned to walk or even when he learned to talk.
He wouldn't understand why you hate him just because of who I am.
He's just a little boy, the apple of my eye
I've been his mom and hes got a great dad, but its not you.
His step-dad was there for him to hold him when he cried.
Our little boy wonders why he isn't loved,
He didn't do anything wrong.
When he asks me that question all i can do is cry.
I look him in his eyes and I don't lie,
I tell him he's loved very much by his mom and dad, there's no reason to tell him about you.
