Rivaled

by JustAFoolInLove   Apr 25, 2005

The strength this blade
Holds in itself
Is growing each night
As it threatens to consume me

I bite my nails
And I quiver and shake
At the thought of being
A role model to anyone

Please don’t follow
A lost, forsaken soul,
You’ll find yourself
As lost as I

I leave tonight
And lift my hands
From in front of your eyes
Granting you sight, if you wish

I drift away
As you see me for the first time;
You turn away
And pray you’ll wake from this nightmare

Dang. There you go once more with a tragic poem about cutting. but there's more to it, which is good.

that's just it, babe. You are a role model... and it would be a nightmare if you left me. I don't think I'd wake up... more or less, join you. Oh, hon, things will get better, more than you know. Keep your head up, mon amie. Things will get better soon. Heart you more than you could know!
