Stranger

Who is that stranger
Who's sitting over there
Should I go help him
Or stand here and stare

Why is he crying
Do I want to know why
I watch as the people
Just walk right by

Not caring for this stranger
And yet feeling his pain
As he sits in the cold
As it's starting to rain

He looks so depressed
A cold, hungry, stoner
But who am i to judge
He may just be a loner

A lonely old man
In torn dirty clothes
He stands out from the crowd
He stands out from those

those who wear their suits
On their way to their job
As the pass this old man
Who is starting to sob

I feel so helpless
Should I give him a hug
Is he homeless
because he's hooked on drugs

Does he have a family
somewhere tired and cold too
I can barely imagine
What he has been through

I see him everyday
He stands right outside
Maybe someday
I'll go stand by his side
