The Letter H

by Eden   Apr 27, 2005

I sit here and softly close my eyes...
There is no one around me...
I open my eyes slowly...
You are there in front of me...my love...
I blink once...lightning flashes...
He is now here, too...how I loathe him...
He takes your arm within his cursed hand
And pulls you away from me...
I stand up in defense...
I feel the need to kill.
I take a step forward, hand up in warning,
He takes a knife to your throat
Your arm he is twisting around.
In a twisted rage of concern and bitter wrath,
My lips part as I sneer at him and growl.
"He will be mine", my mind speaks,
I slowly nod my agreement.
I lunge forward, faster than his blade.
We tumble to the ground
Biting, tearing, stabbing and trying to win.
I pin him to the earth, sitting heavily upon his belly.
You ask for mercy, the darkness dances in our eyes.
"You shall have none." My whispering voice rasps.
As I finally raise my hand to the final blow,
The demon leaves the boy's face and he is innocent.
I halt my strike...can I strike a faultless soul?
"Yes...he is a threat to her...my own.
He would've killed her...my love.
He should die!"
With a scream I bring my hand down upon the boy.
His arms raise in defense to cover his eyes of fear.
I move his arms and take out my dagger...
Tenderly, but with no remorse for his pain, I etch a single letter into his right cheek.

The letter H.
For Heather...
For Halet...
For Hate...
...For me...yesss...for me...

You will remember this scar that I have made upon you. You will remember, or you shall perish. Leave now and be on your way, or else...and mark my words most sincerely...I will bleed you more...And there will be no more of your skin to mar and keep my own. Your sanity...what's left of it...will disappear most beautifully and completely, never to return again.
