Misery

by Momentary Relapse   Apr 27, 2005

A stagnant pool of my misery
Surrounded by tall dark lies
The glen of my heart laid open
Above an overcast gray sky

Atop my pool of misery
Scum of all my hurt floats
Deep down below is darkness
Where hatred and fear coats

A shaft of sunlight threatens to come
Again the clouds roil in the sky
Darkening the land below
Yet darker still is the lie

Forever the pool will sit undisturbed
Catching each drop of misery
Below in the eternal darkness
Deserving of no sympathy
