The Love He Lost.

by Kris   Sep 11, 2003

He walked with a smile
as he lived his life.
But what was not shown
cut just like a knife.

He worked all he could
to help fill the void.
Forgetting the love
which fate had destroyed.

Yet deep in the smile
he hid his own shame.
Since he lost his love
it wasn't the same.

He can't figure out
why he let love die.
He'd sit back and think
and still wonder why.

He doesn't deny
what he had done wrong.
For as time moved on
his heart had grown strong.

Emotions are still
what they used to be.
But he has controlled
the dark misery.

His life's now fulfilled
though sadness is there.
To speak of the love
he lost in despair.
