Johny's Home

by shenoa   Apr 29, 2005

In his school desk
he minds his own
but on the surface
his pains never shown

the other kids pick
play and make fun
pulling apart the pride
of a lonely, unloved son

schools out, he's alone
other kids around
they hit, kick, punch
until Johny huts the ground

he just stands back up
heads toward the door
he wont allow them the pleasure
of seeing his tears pour

he tries to escape
he feels so alone
but no matter how he tries
this is still Johny's home

Johny sits in the car
his parent's pickering again
screaming back and forth
neither ever really wins

Johny looks out the window
a large cloud in the day
but its not a cloud at all
a dragon that'll take him far away

he tries to escape
he feels so alone
but no matter how he tries
this is still Johny's home

back at home
dinner is cold
no matter how much daddy's yells
she wont do what she's told

he's told to go into his room
her cries echo through the halls
Johny can hear him hit her
and throw her against the wall

he picks up his favorite book
the one with magic and elves
he escapes into a land of make believe
able to cast spectacular spells

but then he hears her scream
snapped back to reality
Johny hides under the covers
hoping daddy wont see

but the door slams open
daddy's drunk voice is heard
grabs Johny by the shirt
but doesn't utter a word

Johny's thrown into the wall
kicked and spit on
everything goes black
Johny's breath is gone

at the funeral children cry
exchange the all memories
stories of how Johny was loved
but no one could really see

he tried to escape
he felt so alone
but no matter how he tried
that was still Johny's home
