My Unlikely Saviour

by mj   Apr 29, 2005

I put up walls to guard me from the battle taking place,
but the walls crumbled at my feet and left me standing at your mercy.
I prayed that you would not fire,
and what was left of my heart would stay intaked.
You could see through my shield,
and saw my heart in a million pieces.
I thought you were my enemy,
but you turned out to be my soldier fighting for my love.
You put my heart back together,
and took my love captive.
You were my unlikely saviour,
who appeared out of the smoke to save me from the bombs going off around me.
