Whats The Reason?

by Richard Alan   Apr 29, 2005

“What’s The Reason?”
I don’t want you to cry,
Because it kills me when you do,
Yet I’ve never been dishonest,
And I will not start with you,
So these feelings I will share,
When I’d probably run and hide,
But for you I must be true,
And it’s because you never lied,
I always said no matter,
You can always share with me,
Anything that happened,
And understanding I would be,
So I thank you that you did,
It’s not an easy thing to do,
And for that simple reason,
So much respect I have for you,
Yet I also cannot lie,
And so to you I must be true,
This has left me with some doubts,
About *Someday* and about you,
And that’s why I’ll try and hide,
All these feeling that I’ll fight,
That you and I together,
Might never again be right,
It was just a simple kiss,
And I should probably know as you,
That the kid will never compare,
To seeing you the way I do,
He will never make you feel,
Like you would happily grow old,
With that certain someone,
Who by everyday your told,
You are the summit of perfection,
You define the very word,
And he could spend the rest of his life,
And you still would not have heard,
How he really feels,
And the way that he sees you,
And give up his own life,
Would be just one thing that he’d do,
To give you happiness,
Even if it meant the very stars,
Would be caught and brought to you,
So their beauty was all ours,
But with all this being said,
I still do not know why,
You would cause me so much pain,
And then you yourself would cry?
You say that he kissed you,
But what’s the reason that he would?
He wouldn’t just have done it,
Unless you made him think he could…
