At Fault

by NiXiT   Apr 29, 2005

The fighting never ending,
this single night,
they usually got along so well,
something wasn't right,
he told her to get out
anger rising, she did as he said,
she took off in her car,
both their flames were fed

Fear wells up inside him
as he receives the news
"there was an accident"
then his control he does lose
races to the hospital
thoughts running through his head
god, was this his fault
what was the last thing he said?

It didn't matter,
not what he wanted, he knew
his last words weren't:
"Baby, I love you"
why had they fought?
why had she walked out?
these and many other questions,
lingered about

He walked in the door
to see his love on the bed
doctors all around her,
all soaked in red
how could this happen?
he began to cry
his love in so much pain
and he could'nt even say goodbye

He can't live without her,
he realizes this
theres no way he could go on,
so much he would miss:
holding her hand,
every passionate kiss
laying together,
in that endless bliss

He watches from the door,
as they announce her dead
the pain inside him far to much to bear,
out the door he sped
this can't happen,
surely this is only dreamed
but deep inside,
fault to him was deemed

Not a day later,
they find him dead
his love's death was his fault
he lay in his own pool of red
his fault... he couldn't take it
engulfed by regret, he'd never be the same
he took his life,
knowing he was the one to blame
