I Could Swear

I could swear to never hurt you and to never let you down,
I could swear to always make you smile and never make you frown.

I could swear to keep your secrets and to never tell a soul,
I could swear to always be grounded and to never lose control.

I could swear to never judge and to always understand,
I could swear to always help you and always lend a hand.

I could swear to never leave you and to be there til the end,
I could swear that I will always be the perfect friend.

But the truth is I am human and there are promises I will break,
But I WILL swear to always love you with every breath I take!
