Smile Sweet Sorrow

by Shelby G.   Apr 30, 2005

In the shadows of the darkest cave
In the cold parts of the coldest wave
Lies the darkset of the darkest souls
In the deep parts of the deepest hole

In the face of the ugly man
Are the tears hid behind his hand
His long jacket drags on the ground
Is the only movement that was found

He wanders through the rainy streets
At midnight he admits defeat
Falling to the ground below
Loneliness was all he'd known
Anger grows inside his chest
To find her he had tried his best
But cruelty had got it's way
It keeps the night from turning to day

In the shadows of the darkest cave
In the cold parts of the coldest wave
Lies the darkset of the darkest souls
In the deep parts of the deepest hole

At his fingertips was the light of day
He just watched it slip away
