Trying

Trying hard to run away from my thoughts
because day by day they keep me feeling so lost

Trying to sit here with nothing on my mind
to live through the hard times as if I was blind

Trying hard to enjoy the moment
to laugh and smile and really own it

Trying hard to believe in what will set me free and whats real
but I’ve become numb, nothing is what I feel

Trying hard to find the strength in me
to pull it together and let my true self be

Trying hard to at least pretend
turning for guidance from my closest friend

Trying hard to listen to her words
I realized this time will pass and that other people got it worse
