The Stars

by Lyudmila   May 3, 2005

Twinkling lights in a blackened sky.
Stuck in place, never awry.
Some go flying through the night.
Some fall down, with intense might.

Most just sit in their quiet homes.
Just waiting for their time to roam.
Soaring lights across the air.
Star to comets, in a breathy dare.

Ohh I wish I had their composure.
My skin can't even take their exposure.
If I had their beauty, I'd have their grace.
I'd twinkle on and off in place.

But a sixteen-year old,
Under the stars, no hand to hold.
I look to God for my guiding light.
Only his love keeps me aflight.

But how I long for some sweet guy,
Shining bright eyes, and sweet-sweet smile.
To hold my hand under the stars.
Let each other heal the scars.

Someone to open my heart and be kind.
Someone to tap deep into my mind.
Some teenage guy, to him I'd belong.
He'd make me smile, and keep me strong.

God is there, He won't ever leave.
But now I drop down to my knees.
Is it wrong to pray for him?
Or should I hope that His plan I deserve.

Is he what He wants for plain, simple me?
I'd treat him right, for me he'd be..
My everything, I'd love him so
But then how should I manage to show...

Him..

the..

Stars..
