United

We all lived happy lives,
With all of our family together.
We didn’t take our life for granted,
Because we were always near each other.
Then one day it all changed,
And some lives were taken away.
You decided to sneak up like a coward
And you might think you’ve conquered
But all you did was leave family’s broken and alone
And leave us to cry and moan
When you sent people to crash into buildings with a plane
Why didn’t you think of their pain?
Now you’ve changed every life of every American
But you haven’t won
Since that day
We all have changed
We don’t understand why you did it
Why your people terrorized pilots in the cockpit
Or why you ended the lives of children in the plane
Who shouldn’t have to be in your little game
Or why innocent workers had to suffer
When you thought it was clever
But we do know one thing
You did conquer in something
Your terrorist attacks have brought us down
But they have also made us united without a doubt
We remember all those you stole on 9/11
And we pray for them as they are in heaven
