If I Could Have My Way

by Rachael   May 4, 2005

There's so much I can't change
And tons that I can't say,
But there's a lot I would do
If I could have my way.

If I could have my way
You wouldn't be around,
Your mouth would be locked shut
You couldn't make a sound.

If I could have my way
You'd have to give me back
All those years you stole from me
And the self-esteem I lack.

If I could have my way
I'd rob you of your pride,
I'd make you feel exactly like
You made me feel inside.

If I could have my way
You'd be alone forever,
I'd make you lose the one you love
And never again be together.

If I could have my way
You'd give me back my friend,
You'd have no power over him
It'd simply have to end.

If I could have my way
He'd leave you in the dark,
You'd have no light to guide the way
Not even a spark.

If I could have my way
I'd make him break your heart,
He'd tell you it was all a lie
Two separate ways you'd part.

If I could have my way
You'd cry each day and night,
Your life would be a battle
You just might lose the fight.

If I could have my way
You'd feel a deep, deep pain,
You would suffer constant loss
And never any gain.

If I could have my way
Your own medicine you would taste,
You'd be stabbed in the back
And told your life's a waste.

If I could have my way
I'd wish all this on you,
But my heart won't let me, see,
It's something I can't do.
