Missing You

by Lisa D Larson   May 4, 2005

When I am sitting in my car
Listening to the songs we used to sing
My heart beats faster and my eyes well up
I miss you in moments in everyday life
I want to reach out and touch you at night
To feel your body soft in sleep
I miss you lying next to me
The musky scent you leave behind
The feel of your lips on mine
I miss the sound of your voice
When you say my name
The transformation when you play the guitar
Like it takes you to another place and time
When the sound of goodbye did not echo
And the air beside me was filled with you
I miss the way you touched my cheek
Your big electric blue eyes
And that sexy grin you saved for me
I miss you telling me to shut up
To only keep me talking nonstop
The lazy way you used to laugh
I miss you when I am here
Living my life with out you here
Feeling like the distance between us is eternity
Just wishing that I could give you a hug
When the day has been to long
And the nights are way to lonely
I miss the way you used to hold me tight
Keeping me safe from everything.
Now I just wait for the phone to ring
To only hear your voice in the distance
