Venture Life's Adventure

by Dorotea©   May 7, 2005

The gentle wind stirs memories of old
Taunting significant words left untold
Playing with every regret-filled thought
That has ever danced through a broken mind
In past memories stands a soul, entwined.

The ocean waves break through every dam
Unfurling the waters in which pain swam
Releasing the fury hidden and locked
Freeing all caged emotions and anguish
Into own world of selfishness, languish.

The prairie so lonely echoes unheard
Reminding of the voices felt, not heard
Hollowed heartbeats living a half dead song
Purgatory of lonesome thought and view
Away from this deep solitude, pursue.

Hearken! The mountains heal my silent lips
Deep within pure joy a mind and soul slips
Home for each whom yearns for tranquility
So take my hand friend and let us venture
To world of pain and pleasure, adventure.

WOW Sonja - I can't believe this is the first poem I have had the pleasure of reading of yours, breath taking. Your choice of words and metphors amazing, each line flowed perfectly into the next. I enjoyed this very much.
