You Are Sorry?

by Eden   May 8, 2005

Sorry...
What a frail word.
I dare say you know not its meaning anymore...
Do you?
Such an apologetic way to express an excuse to steal for yourself my assent to your "sorry".
You say sorry...that you cannot control what happens in life...but how will you show it?
Prove it.
I need more than a fickle whim of your breath and vocal chords. Your mind is weak...so why should I believe what you say when you plead for my grace?
Hmmm....
I think not.
You are not sorry. I shall not forgive you.
You are a petty excuse for a friend...that you should cut ever so tenderly and harshly into the back of my neck.
Yes, I will admit it. You have scarred me...but you have not made me a scent weak. No...not at all.
In fact, I am sorry that you have come to miss it...
Sorry...
I am a different person now.
I have already forgotten you...but I never forgave.
You are not sorry...
You have not proven it...
And there is nothing you can do that will show me otherwise.
Miserable Friend...farewell.

Wow... Really, all I can say is wow. You have a style in your writing that captures me. Maybe its the dark faucet that you have, or perhaps it is something we as uneducated humans cannot quite grasp... Well written..

wow, lot of anger there...i feel fake because i have to admit a lot of my poems are just inventions, and in others...when i am protesting in my poetry about various villains and bad people...usually the villain is me and i am writing about myself. anyway, it sounds like someone let you down bigtime...good poem, but i bet you'd sooner have a good friend...
