Endless Time

by They Call Me Megan   May 8, 2005

It smells of sweet, fresh grass
Crinkles and whines as our bodies crush each blade
Our laughter seeps into the soil, floods the very core
Trees lean in to listen
The stars peek around their clouds just to get a glimpse
A glimpse of what unfolds below
Two young people in a daring embrace
Adoration leaks into every particle, every limb, every insect
Darkening skies bless us with given protection
Blankets our love, tucks us in
We roll apart, breathless for words
Trees relax satisfied with conversation
Stars hide once more having fed their curiosity
The grass leaves our imprints, our affection
Deep inside this earth, someone understands
Someone knows the words to describe
Lay out in blueprints what really goes on
Deep inside this earth we will soon go
Deep inside for a retreat
For answers
For endless time.
