Love's a Gift

by Brad Champagne   May 10, 2005

Long ago, forgotten years,
For her love I spent my tears.
Hours of blissful love were spent
On a woman who up and went.

Never knowing what is right,
The heart lacks knowledge in its sight.
Memories are kept there, too,
Forever, always haunting you.

Hail to you, the faithful few,
Who never lies or falsehoods spew.
Courage and enduring strength,
For and unseen, endless length.

Remember, you of tender age,
To your raw emotions cage.
Find someone who's kind and true,
Returns affection back to you.

Love's a gift to those who are true,
Till the reign of man is through.
If it's false, the pain you'll bear,
And your heart will tarry there.
