Perfect Illusion

by CritiX   May 12, 2005

Dreaming while I drive to school,
Laughing about something I just read.
Thinking about the next day,
Which I just can’t help to dread.

Thoughts in my head colliding,
Sighing because the light just turned red.
Watching birds in the sky fly away,
Knowing I cry myself to sleep at night in bed.

Walking trough these halls in school,
Looking at all of them running to class.
Wishing I was somewhere else,
While looking at this beautiful mess.

It’s the perfect illusion,
Unfolding right here in my head.
No one I would even dare to tell,
A tear rolls down because of what they said.

Trying so hard to just fit in,
Laughing because they don’t even care.
Standing up in the middle of class to leave,
Never knowing I would even dare.

Dreaming of far away places,
Whispering “I will be there in a few”.
I never saw the guy pull out his knife,
While falling on the morning dew.

Rolling over to look at the sky,
Clouds moving by so fast.
Softly apologizing about my mistake,
Not even hearing the sirens go past.

Surrounding slowly fading to black,
Somehow I kind of knew.
While my mind keeps wandering around,
I’m still whispering “I will be there in a few”.
