See! The Man!

by AJ Lopez   Sep 27, 2003

On the last night of his life, he was betrayed. The one who betrayed him, his life, would have to pay.

They took him to the governor, accused him of treason. They wanted him dead, for no real reason.

Beforehand, he was beaten and spit at. Now here he stood, before the governor, with the world upon his back.

The governor found nothing wrong with this righteous man. But fear, fear of losing his position, fear of man, caused him to wash his hands.

The whole band of soldiers then began to ridicule him, and beat him, scourge him, holding nothing back. This should’ve killed any other. But, weak, battered, and bleeding, here he stands. How shocked all must’ve been, seeing this soul still with his dignity and self-respect in tact. How shocked these crowds were when the governor presented him and said, “See! The Man!!”

He died early that morning day, so whole world he saved. And with his death he paved the way. He paved the way of happiness and the way of life. He gave us hope saying, “Thou shalt be with me in paradise.” We will never forget the love of Jesus Christ. With his love he gave us the ransom sacrifice. He truly is the way of life.

Out of love, he came, where he suffered in pain. In order that others would have life to gain. He didn’t know us, but loved us all the more. When the window of life closed, there he opened the door.

How must he feel when so many go through their lives without appreciation? It’s truly a need for self-examination. His example needs our full dedication.

So let us never forget what Jesus did in the past. His sacrifice will forever last! Remember him and “See! The Man!”
