One Night Only

by Emma Carnage   May 15, 2005

I’m locked in this room
All by myself
And although this room is closed
I am open
More open than ever before
I’m willing to say anything
If you ask me a question
I will answer you
With the complete truth
I’m willing to admit everything
All my mistakes
All my thoughts
All my wishes
All my dreams
If you ask me anything
I will answer you

The problem though
Is no one cares tonight
I am all alone
Not a soul to talk to
Because nobody cares
The one night I’m willing
I actually want to tell you
No one cares enough to ask
Not a “How are you?”
Not a “What did you do today?”
Not even a simple “What’s up?”
Nobody asks
So I won’t tell

Tonight is your chance
If you decide to talk
If you’re interested in me
Tonight is your chance to ask
Any question that comes to mind
Simple or complicated
Who I like
How many cuts I did
Why I tried to kill myself
Everything that was going through my mind
I will tell you it all
If you cared enough to ask
But nobody does
This night will soon pass
And nobody will have cared

No one will know anything else
My mind will still be a mystery
To those who know me
Or at least think they do
After this night I’ll be closed again
Locked away forever
Tonight’s your last chance
I’m going out of business
You can take anything you want
I won’t charge you tonight
But it’s a one night sale
So hurry up and come fast
I’m getting bulldozed tomorrow
Tonight’s my last sale
Because I’m going out of business
