All I Ask Of You

by Regina Mae   May 16, 2005

I'm afraid to love for again I might fail,
It only gives me pain, then I start to wail.
This was the result of my experiences before,
thus, making me decide to close my heart's door.

I slammed it with much force,
locked it up without remorse.
I promised myself never to let it be open
until one day, I found out the lock was broken.

Then I found you holding it's key,
with your pledge of love on bended knee.
You asked for a chance,
to let go of my fears and trance.

The love you showed was indeed impressive,
you changed my heart's unbelieving perspective.
Give it a try, my friends did say,
face your fear; come what may.

It's really hard for me to decide,
but for you, I'll lower down my pride.
Just promise me one thing,
be honest to me; hide nothing.

To you, I now give my heart,
hoping you won't break it apart.
To fool me around you shouldn't do,
for a love so true is all I ask of you...
