The Cotton Wood

by Casey   May 17, 2005

I can hardly explain
The contrast between
The night sky
And the cotton from the cotton wood tree,
Illuminated
By carnival lights
And mixed in
With the tears of angels
Sparkling with enchantment
Making the night
Like something out of a fairy tale
Swirling in silence
Softly to the ground
Coating the earth
In pillow stuffing.

The simplicity of that poem really caught me. You put the poem together with such few words but the content was beautiful. Keep writing, very nice write.
