Want To Be The One

She said that I'm too immature
And her limit's 17 or older
But if anything ever goes wrong
I want to be the one to hold her
I want to be the one who's there
Whenever she has a fear
I want to be the one who's there
Whenever she sheds a tear
But there's one person in the way
Of me reaching my happiness
So the things that I feel for her
I have to put to rest
And this person that's in her life
I really envy him so
I'll never consider him a friend
He will always be my foe
But as long as he keep her happy
And give her more love than I can
I'll put my jealousy aside
And consider him the better man
So far he's doing well
But I'll still wait for the day
That the light of my love shine through
Cause it will never go away
