Let You Go

by lunachan   May 19, 2005

She told me she talked to you.
she told me you said you'd call.

but I'm not sure i want to talk to you again.

you cut me deep.
causing me
to sever the rope
that's kept me tied to you.

and i don't want to give you the chance
to re-tie it.

i don't want to deal with that again.
i don't want to deal with you
ever ever again.

i don't want to risk
opening up to you
only to have you stab me in the back
and run away
only to return a few weeks later
to do it again.

so I'm gonna let you go
I'm gonna try so damn hard
I'm gonna create a strength to use.
to make me strong.

to make me rely only on me
until i can have it for real.

and really be on my own
and be whole once again.
