Daddy

by Ann Stareyes   May 20, 2005

I remember as a young girl
How I'd cry to go with you
You worked so extremely hard
And was proud of all you'd do.

I'd ride the tractor with you
For hours at the time
Loving every minute of it
And getting dirty wasn't a crime.

We created many memories
From all we use to do
Never will they leave me
Or the love that I hold for you.

You're getting older now
And your health's not good
If I could change it for you
You know that I would.

I'll always be here for you
As long as God gives me breath
I'll do everything I can
God will help me with the rest.

I thank you for all you've done for me
You and Mom truly raised me well
I Thank you from the bottom of my heart
This I needed to tell.

I Love you so much Dad
And I'll always be at your side
Praying you have many more years
Before I have to say good-bye..

*My Dad had a light stroke Tuesday of last week, But he came home Friday. This inspired me to write this, because he's all I have left. I lost my Mom 8 years ago. All of my Grandparents are gone, so he is The only family link I have left. It truly can make you stop and think.*
