Claustrophobia

by penny   May 22, 2005

There’s two of me really
Both crowded inside
There’s the happy, joyful girl
Twined with the girl who constantly cries

She’s crying for love

She’s crying for the dreams she left behind

She’s cryin for the life she longs

She’s crying for the heavy black cloud cementing her mind

This happy girl sat at her side is to weary to intervene
Nowadays the dim light from her corner can rarely be seen
The years of warfare have left her fatigued and worn
She’s tired of fighting. The glittering smile has long since been gone

You might catch a glimpse - every now and then
Of the jovial ardor she still yields within
Her golden spirit is always there flickering in the dark
As she clings so tight to the love in her heart

But the tears her sister cries haunt her dreams
The constant wailing, tears flowing into streams

She’s crying even now
The hurt just won’t relent
What about her happy ending
The pages. They’re worn, torn and bent
