School's Finally Out

by Laura   May 24, 2005

I walk down this hall
one final time
as I'm hearing the bell ring
it's final banging chime
everyone's running
to be the first one's out
everyone's jumping
and starting to shout
the last day of school
is over now
three months of freedom
because school's finally out
most of us wear a smile
some are starting to cry
because the time has come
to say goodbye
no one wants to
but it's just the way it goes
we say goodbye to everyone
friends as well as foes
it gets harder as we grow up
to say goodbye at the end of the year
because soon we'll be staying goodbye as we leave for college
and never seeing each other again, we'll fear
i have one thing to say
to everyone who's still young
enjoying being little, don't rush growing up
because hearing your to young is half the fun
but back to my point
when i come back I'll be in eighth grade
I'll have moments to enjoy
and memories to make
I'll be missing a lot of people
but I'm gonna try my best
to enjoy my 8th grade year
like all the rest.
