37 I love You's

by Cara McTired   May 26, 2005

The first when you looked in my eyes,
That were, strained as I tired not to cry,
The second time was like the first,
Full of flavor from loves birth,
By the fifth time it never got old,
After four months of dating, we were becoming bold.
By time number ten,
I smiled at you and then,
Admitted I felt the same...

Time has passed and now we say it,
Every so often...
In the morning,
After school,
When I’m asleep in class, and start to drool...

But when we reach number 30,
The words... they started feeling dirty,
Like they didn't mean a thing,
Now they’re just something that we randomly sing...

I lost track after that,
After we took a break,
The rest of high school was boring,
But we made it for each other’s sake.

Now at graduation, you walk up to me,
You say your sorry, and how we are meant to be,
The thing that hurt the worst, and I don't know why,
But I knew it was true,
After the 37th
"I love you..."

*sigh* finally posted it, its one of my few LONG poems... i know its kind of confusing when you start out, and in the middle, and the format really isn't that good... i'll do it better later as a project. But tell me what you think! PLEASE!
