Within my mind

by ScarletHaze   May 27, 2005

Voices raised in their own discussion.
Me lost within my mind.
The silence there is inviting.
Far better than the madness outside.

I used to hide in the recess of my mind.
Now i find i live there.
Only come out when there is no other choice.
But i always find i return

The only thing that exists there with me,
Is my blade.
My wonderful calming blade.
The only thing i need.

The krimzon river flows swiftly here,
Joining many on it's course.
I stop to think how beautiful this is,
Till i notice it is also running down my wrists.

The scars on my wrists are more than that,
They are the riverbeds long dry.
No longer can my blood flow,
So it leaves behind it's mark.

And none of this anyone sees.
I hide behind my facade.
Whenever anyone cares to ask,
I just say I'm fine and it's left at that.

Which is why i know none of you will see this coming.
Wouldn't think I'm writing my note.
Wouldn't know about the knife i intend to use,
And you won't understand why i end my life tonight.

So here i am again in the silence of my mind.
This time however i don't intend to return.
For the last time i take my soothing blade,
and admire the beautiful krimzon river.
