Sweet Salvation

The days are turning colder,
My life, I fear, is coming to an end,
I'm looking down upon my body,
My heart I still have to mend.

All these emotions finally got to me,
I had no other way to deal,
So I took my final steps,
Figuring I was never going to heal.

You only saw me on the outside,
Not all the pain I was going through,
All the scars in my memory,
Were from the things I didn't want to come true.

Maybe lies are better for me,
Because then I won't have to face the facts,
I'm not going to be hurt all of the time,
So now I have to fill in all of those empty cracks.......
