Haven

The river’s gabble draws me in
Its foamy froth fills me up
Give thanks to the dead
Drink to life and the living

The river’s cape captures me
I’m caught in the whisk of its turn
Swimming in a bath of ice
The lone cure for my sickness

A sanctuary from the fiery chasm
An escape from endless torture
Refreshed in the waters
Told my stories of persecution

The river can tell many stories, many secrets
I have let a few go
And as my mind is replenished
I tumble over the fall
