Be my closest friend

God be my closest friend, when I want my life to end.
God hold me near, when all that I feel is fear.
Build me up, when they tear me down.
Be strong for me, when I am weak.
Lord please shine your light onto my darkened path.
Help me to answer in love and not in wrath.
Father help me to fight all my battles on my knees, and to live my life for you to please.

This is my plee from an undeserving soul to a most holy king.
Father hear my hearts cries, dry these tears from my eyes.
Hold me in your arms once again,
God be my closest friend.
