Holding on to something not worth keeping

by Tamara   Jun 3, 2005

You’re words are hollow and your touch is fake
Yet your promises I continue to take

You’re kiss is strong
but You’re hugs never last very long

Though the feeling in my heart tells me this is wrong
With you is where I want to belong

Your eyes tell me the truth you try so hard to keep hidden
But I know what you do, and I know where you’ve been

You’ve been unfaithful, you’re heart has been untrue
Yet I am still here, standing strong right beside you

I’m here, but you don’t care to see
You don’t care because this relationship is never about me

My hand reaches out to yours in one last attempt to hold on
But I feel no comfort in your touch, the feeling of protection is long past gone
