Promise of faith

A heart broken by fear of deceit
Always holds close to the promise of tomorrow

Dreams of happiness will always show scars of defeat
As hopes for a change, is all there is to show

But remembrance of lies and infidelity push away truth that wants to heal
Leaving empty eyes leading to a heart that no longer wants to feel

No longer wants to feel the sting of thoughtless words or lonely nights
No longer wants to hear the sound of screaming and pointless fights

All that is left is faith in words not yet proven untrue
All that is left is the Heart felt promises of someone new
