We're Both Free

by M J U   Jun 6, 2005

I know you don't see me
the way that I see you.
We're both unhappy
our lives have changed,
our relationships are through.

You're trying to escape
while I'm hoping to be found.
You'd rather be alone
and I need someone around.

I've loved you for a long time
but we each did our own thing.
I shared my life with many
and you were devoted to your ring.

Though my years of trying
have ended in loves lost.
I can't help but think that
there's a chance
since you've taken your ring off.

I truly wish that you could see
past the person that's outside
and know the burning passion
that I have for you inside.

I know you don't see me
the way that I see you
and though we both are free now
there will never be us two.
