All i wanted to say...

I wanted to write a poem
just to say one simple thing
but first i'm going to ramble on
about my newest fling

my boyfriend is totally awesome
he always makes me smile
and risking getting in trouble
has never been more worth while

we spend all weekend together
and my curfew is always missed
but the threats of being grounded
are shrouded by my bliss

his lips so soft and warm
press gently into mine
and without even thinking
our fingers intertwine

we've lain atop his roof
and gazed up at the stars
we've kissed within the rain
and exposed our biggest scars

but for us it's not just romance
we're always screwing around
we chase each other in circles
then fall onto the ground

he proceeds to pin my arms down
and tickle me until i scream
or he'll make me laugh so hard
my eyes begin to gleam

the tears stream down my cheeks
as my face is turning red
and the next thing i know he's laughing
and shouting out "brittany snorted!"

so as i come to a close
i have one thing left to say
and every time i hear this
it brightens up my day

so, baby, listen closely
because these words are sure and true
all i wanted to say
is that, Richie... i love you
