The lies of the bitter

by jamie ellen   Jun 7, 2005

I fear the answer I taste the lie
Nothing has changed you remain in denial
You my mother and I your daughter
How is it that I am the adult and you the child
And always as far as memory allows
I helped you from the ground
A shattered mother and distant father
What is left of the baby the child the girl
As time lapses and the mind expands lies are discovered
And hate firmly found
As beauty escapes some
And finds its way to others
Jealousy is clear in the eyes of those you are born to trust
The distaste you have for the green eyes
Reaffirms the hatred in side
I am but broken I am but a sinner
But one thing I am not is blind to
The lies of the bitter
