Because Of You

by Richard Alan   Jun 7, 2005

"Because Of You"

Etched into my memory,

And carved into my mind,

Is a vision of your beauty,

That so easily I find,

It’s captured my emotion,

With the fire in your eyes,

It’s freedom from the truth,

But still burning from the lies,

My world is set ablaze,

From the loveliness in you,

Rapture courting misery,

With nothing I can do,

A slave unto your smile,

By a choice that isn’t there,

A captive of your beauty,

Every moment that we share,

My life is to uncertain,

With my heart wrapped up in you,

Yet the greatest things in life,

Are the hardest things to do,

So as I whisper in the night,

To keep you close within the day,

"Wherever there’s a will"

"There has got to be a way"

I know if your not the girl,

With whom I’ll share my life,

My expectations have now changed,

On how I’ll see my future wife,

She’ll have the essence of a sunset,

And the magic of one too,

I wont have to compromise,

To get a girl that is like you,

And it’s not too much to ask,

Yes, I finally know that’s true,

I know what I deserve,

And know it’s all because of you,

So if nothing else you’ve shown,

Exactly what I’m looking for,

Now I know that I’m not wrong,

For having wanted something more,

But with all this being said,

Ya know, you being such a find,

It really starts to scare me,

When I let it cross my mind,

Because what if I lose you,

And it takes 23 more years,

Just to find a girl who’s close,

That’s one of my biggest fears,

And who knows it could take more,

Maybe the rest of my whole life,

To even find a girl like you,

Let alone have her be my wife,

But it’s all because of you,

Now knowing what fate has in store,

Everything I could’ve dreamed,

Everything I want and more...
