In Search Of Solitude

by Charlotte   Jun 8, 2005

Sitting here numb and lifeless
Unable to speak, unable to move
Motions, words, life, all seem pointless now
To many years of hurt and pain
Have stolen the spirit, the joy, from my body

My mind made up, my future is decided
Clutching my one way ticket into darkness
I wander off into the still night
In search of my one, true friend
In him I shall find solitude

I’m traveling down a desolate road
Broken souls, torn hearts, empty bodies
All of which remind me of myself
Are strewn down the path so carelessly
Thrown from the heavens, by the Almighty himself

Stopping in a deserted area, I hold open my clenched fist
Revealing my precious ticket, I throw my head back
I shout to the heavens, you banished me from your realm Lord,
But this cant be worse than the hell you subjected me to on earth
With a tear in my eye, I rip into my flesh so he knows I’m ready

Tears of crimson surge, falling so fast from my wrists
Life empties out of me, pouring from every vein, every cut
My dreams, my hopes, my all…Gone, dead, burnt
They now lie broken on the concrete
Like my pale, torn body, from which I stole my own life
